Summer Classes and Camps

Story Hour:  

Fridays 10-11am June 2- August 4, 2017 

For ages 2 to 7 years.  Includes stories, songs, crafts, and puppetry.  

Cost: $5 per child or $15 per family for all 10 weeks, or $1 per week.

Weekly Summer Classes

Make Your Own Picture Book  

Four days: Monday -Thursday June 5-June 8, 2017

9am-11:30am 

For ages 8 to 15 years.  Learn how to write, organize, and add artwork to a story.  Children will write and illustrate their own original story book.  Presentation for family on Thursday, June 8, at 10:30am.

Cost:  $40 - includes materials

4-5 Day Summer Camps

Garage Band 101:  

Wednesdays 3-5pm June 7 - August 9, 2017

For teens and young adults.   Students will learn to work together as a band, learn a variety of music genres from popular songs to originals.  They will also learn about professional sound equipment.  Space is limited, please call for more information.

Cost: $50 for all 10 weeks.

Art Exploration Camps 2017

Four days: Monday -Thursday

9am-2pm 


For ages 5 to 15 years.  Art, Music, Crafts, Theatre, Puppetry, and Science.  Each week ends with class presentations.

Cost:  $60 per session


Session #1: June 19-22, "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.


Session #2: July 10-13, "Lights, Camera, Action"


Session #3: July 31-Aug. 3, "Penguins, Polar Bears, and the Polar Ice Caps"

Theatre Camps 2017

(Elementary and Intermediate)

For TWO different AGE GROUPS (see below)


Session #1: Monday-Friday, June 26-June 30. There will be a final performance on Friday afternoon.

Grades 1-3 meet 9-10am

Cost:  $25

Grades 4 and up meet 10am-2pm (Bring a sack lunch)

Cost:  $55


Session #2: Tuesday-Friday, July 25-28. 9am-2pm

Ages 11 and up

Cost: $55

Puppets on Parade 

Monday - Friday July 17 - 21, 2017

9am-2pm 

For 4th - 12th graders.  Musical theater and puppetry are combined for a week of fun, culminating Friday in a formal show at 4pm and 7pm.  Dance, music, live acting and puppetry are included.  Limited enrollment.

Cost:  $55

Drawing with Adrian Van Suchtelen  

Monday - Friday August 14-18, 2017

9am-12noon 

For adults and high school students.  Learn from noted Adrian Van Suchtelen,

art professor and regionally recognized artist.  Finish with a completed drawing.

Cost:  $150 ($100 for students and $130 for seniors)

Ongoing Teen Programs

Pay it Forward: Youth in Action  

Wednesdays year round

3:45 - 5 pm 

Youth ages 12-15 years old.  Pay it Forward s a volunteer group for youth.  Teens meet weekly and participate in a variety of activities that gives them a chance to help others.  Several meetings throughout the year focus on planning, where the teens get to be involved in deciding on and planning service opportunities.

Cost:  Free

Improv Faction  

Thursdays year round

5 - 6pm 

Ages 9th grade and up.  Try your hand at improvisation in a fun, supportive atmosphere.  The Improv Faction group periodically has the opportunity to perform for special community programs.  The sessions are moderated by Bruce Baird, with over 6 years of improv experience.  He will help students learn and develop poise, wit, humor, ad-libbing, and characterization skills on stage.  More information HERE.
