YOUTH STORYTELLING VIDEO CONTEST
Contest entries are due Thursday, April 2nd at 4:00 pm. Pick a story you can tell out loud in less than 5 minutes. Video record yourself retelling the story once you have it memorized. Judges will be watching for aspects like: Having your story memorized, Engaging introduction, poise, enunciation, voice expression, facial expression, body language, appropriate gestures, pacing, enthusiasm, connection, satisfying ending, and uniqueness of telling. Students will be expected to announce the title and the source of the story: ie author, or origin of the story.
CATEGORIES:
Grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-9, 10-12
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Winners will be announced April 20th by 4:00 pm. And displayed on our Facebook page.
A copy of the judging criteria is available from the Fine Arts Center. It includes: Telling the story from memory, having an engaging introduction, poise, enunciation, voice expression, facial expression, body language, appropriate gestures, pacing, enthusiasm, connection, satisfying ending, and uniqueness of telling. Stories need to be 3 to 5 minutes in length. Students will be expected to announce the title and the source of the story: ie author, or origin of the story. Additional points will be given for tying the story in to this year’s ART-TELL theme of “Spice of Life”. We will have at least three judges, representing storytellers and educators from the community.
