World of Puppetry Museum tour, Fine Arts Center, Brigham City

The World of Puppetry Museum contains and eyecatching array of puppets from  around the world, reflecting  different eras and a unique variety of puppet types. Over 150 puppets with 15 countries represented.

 African:  Ivory Coast, South Africa, and Zaire- with jointed figures, masks, and
              
marionettes
Burma ( now called Mynamar)- with Marionettes

China- with transparent shadow puppets and silk hand puppets

Czechoslovakia- Pop-up puppets, and marionette

England and Italy- with pictures and replicas of Pulcinella 
                  ( Punch and Judy)  

India - with shadow puppets and Kathpultan marionettes 

Indonesia- Leather shadow puppets ( Wayang kulik)  and rod puppets (Wayang Goleck)

Germany- Bross marionettes and Steiff Hand puppets

Japan-  Stick puppet and articulated wizard, bun raku   demonstrations

 

Mexico-  Marionettes

 

Thailand- Marionettes

 

United States-  Lamb Chop and Kermit replicas, children’s versions of Howdy Doody,
