Most of these classes are repeated through the school year. Our next series of 8-10 week classes will be starting mid January. We also often do a few shorter theater and crafts classes in November and late March. Classes need a minimum of 6 students to run. ***** Winter 2012 SCHEDULE *****
Wasatch Children’s and Wasatch Youth Choirs: Mondays, 4 to 5 pm for 5-7 year olds and 8 to 14 year olds $55-60 per half year. ( 14 weeks) Every child is helped to do their own solo part. Students learn tone, pitch, how to read music, as well as team work and a variety of songs from different genre in a fun setting. Starts January 9. ( Although we will take the jan16 and February 20 school holidays off) .
Intermediate Theater School: Tuesdays 4-5 pm . For students 6th through 8th grade. 10 weeks, Starts January 17. Instructor is Bonnie Richardson. Students learn poise, theater and acting skills, memorization, team work and put on a production at the end of class. Cost is $45
Basic Youth Drawing: Tuesdays 4 to 5 pm , grades 3 -8. ( 8 weeks) . Learn drawing skills & techniques. This class will start a week later- January 24 and go 7 weeeks through March 6. Instructor-Susan Neidert . $40 includes supplies.
Puppetry Class: Wednesdays 4-5:30 pm . For ages 9 to 14. Students will learn to make one or two different puppets, then learn various acting skills, some basic ventriloquism and help produce 2 different puppet shows. may include Friday productions. Instructors Susan Neidert and Andy Petersen. Starts January 18 Cost is $25 and includes puppet making materials. Elementary Theater School: Thursdays , 4 to 5 pm , for students grades 1 to 5. ( 8 weeks) . Instructor is Whitney McCormick. Cost is $35 Starts January 19
Youth Arts and Crafts Class: Thursdays 4-5 pm . Grades 1 to 5, Starts january 919 and goes for 7 weeks. Learn skills and various art techniques, while learning about famous artists. Emphasis on different artists and some book art illustrators. Instructor Carol Harlow . Cost of $35 includes materials.
Improv Faction: Thursdays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm. , for tenth grade through first year college students. Improvisational games and instruction with Barbara Dawson. Check website for specific dates No fee.
F.A.C.E. (Theatre Workshop) is our High School theater Program: Thursday evenings for 14 weeks. For 9th through12th grades. Start date is January 19, 2012 with a formal performance ( Show) scheduled for for Friday Saturday, and Monday, April 27, 28, 30 . Instructor is Kameron Klitgaard. All interested students may participate, learn acting and audition skills, as well as other theater tech skills. Cost is $25 and ticket sales. EVENING CLASSES: (Ages High School thru Adult,)
Basic Photography: Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Runs 5 weeks, Next class is scheduled to start January 24. Learn how to use your camera and get the pictures you want. Instructor Gary Warren. Cost is $30.
Sculpting: Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9 pm. Learn the basics of sculpting, including human and animal figures. Clay provided for class exercises. Additional clay available for studentn to purchase. Instructor is Master western artist and sculptor Kelly Donovan. Information on follow up casting or firing will also be avaiable.
Video Basics: ??? We are still working on an evening class to teach the ins and outs of short film (video) production. Class would include how to put a video/ shortfilm together and the art of using your camera and editing your work. May include script writing and acting skills. Watch for survey and more information.
