"Willy Wonka Jr." Musical

Cast List Below

Dear Amazing Auditioners (and parents!),
It is a wonderful experience for me to witness such courage among so many young performers! We were amazed by the talent displayed by each one of you. THANK YOU FOR AUDITIONING!! You have not made this easy in any way. There are many factors involved in casting a show. As the director, I have to consider my stage size, the abilities and possible potential of the actors, age and experience of the actors, schedule conflicts, and even the Fine Arts Center to name just a few. Please know that I had to make some hard choices. I have been in your shoes. I do understand the joy or the heartache that may come. For those I could not cast this time around, please do not be deterred from the joy of theater. I hope you continue to develop your skills and take each opportunity to audition and/or chance to improve that comes your way. There are several theater classes and summer workshops available at the Fine Arts Center, as well as community theaters nearby. Something to look at would be a Theatre class I am teaching here at the FAC for ages 7-13. Click Here to learn more (It would be great for some of our cast members to take this class as well.) And also our Apollo Theatre Company for 7th-11th graders. Click here to learn more.
Just because you aren’t in Willy Wonka, Jr. does
does not mean you are any less amazing. In another show, another director may need the skill set you have to offer. You have more potential than you realize. If being in theater is one of your dreams, don’t give up. As Charlie says… Think Positive!!
For those of you in the cast, I need to know if you accept the role. Please send me an email
and let me know by saying: (your name) - I accept my role! cjkraus22@gmail.com
If, for whatever reason you are unable to accept the role, please let me know as soon as possible in the same way by sending me an email and saying: (your name)- I cannot accept this role. Please find a replacement. I will not question you about your decline. I have many other people qualified and willing to fill a spot if one should open up.
We will have our parent meeting and first rehearsal on Monday, September 13th from 5:15-7 pm.
Parents only need to stay for about 30 minutes. Please be respectful of my time as I try to be respectful of yours. You will receive your script that night, a rehearsal schedule, and lots of important information. You are welcome to pay your $35 (per person) cast fee that night if you wish. The cast fee is due by October 1st. I can hardly contain my excitement in anticipation of this show! We will have a wonderful adventure together as we work hard, laugh, sing, and share our performance with others. Thank you all again for your love of theater and your willingness to take a risk.

Sincerely, Colton Kraus, Director
