Theatre Programs

Ongoing THEATRE PROGRAMS--  Respect, learning, and leadership  for all ages.  (See "School Year Classes and Programs" for information on choir, drawing and arts in crafts classes.)
The Fine Arts Center now has a series of educational theatre experiences for 1st through 12th grade, with additional opportunities for adults (Peach Days and occasional community theater)  Classes range from 8 to 14 week sessions and are repeated through the school year.   Students learn stage direction, characterization, poise, voice projection, body language and memorization.  Whether they plan to become theatre majors or just want to be comfortable in front of an audience, theatre is full of games and ideas that expand a student’s self expression and leadership skills. Everyone gets a voice, and is part of the action.  Theatre is a team sport where taking turns and helping each other is important, and where every part is needed.   As a student matures, theater is also a way to learn more about human nature as good actors need to observe and better understand how people react differently to various situations.
