Encore concert set for Friday May18th at 8 pm-  (please note the later summer concert time).

 Weyand and Bartschi in Concert:

The Fine Arts Center is hosting an encore Music in the City Concert on Friday, May 18, at 8 pm. (Please note later summer hours)   Performing are Austin Weyand on guitar and Jamie Bartschi on violin.

For  both these musicians, music is their passion.  Austin is a well known master guitarist in and around Northern Utah, known best for his awe-inspiring fingerstyle compositions. He has played everything from concertos with symphony orchestras  to bluegrass and celtic music on tour through Europe,  and currently plays regularly with a local rock band.  His latest venture was Spanish Flamenco for an eight-week run of the U.S. Premiere of Zorro the Musical.

Austin did his undergraduate music/guitar study at Utah State University and then earned a Masters degree in guitar/jazz studies from Northern Illinois University where he studied with classical, jazz, jam band, and world music virtuoso Fareed Haque. He has been featured as a soloist and ensemble musician in concerts, television, radio and various recordings.

He makes his home in Honeyville, and enjoys performing and teaching whenever he can. This concert will feature a variety of guitar and violin compositions from Austin’s new CD entitled "They Call me Dad" Songs for my daughters.
Jamie Bartschi is a uniquely talented performer and teacher with over 27 years of experience. She has also worked in hospitals and rehabilitation centers around the country and holds a bachelor's and master's degree in music therapy. Her performing style centers around a love of improvisation and a combination of genres both fiddle and classical.

Jamie is known for her enduring melodies, vibrant tone, and connecting with her audience through a playful love of music. This concert will feature compositions from her new full-length album "Unpaved". "Unpaved" is also  available on iTunes.

Come hear the stories behind the melodies and enjoy the music. The concert will be held Friday May 18 at 8:00 pm. at the Fine Arts Center, 58 South 100 West, Brigham City.   Doors open at 7:30  pm.  Tickets are $8 ($5 with student ID) and will include a coupon for $1 off dessert at Peach City after the show.
