2017 Winter Class Schedule

Classes need a minimum of 6 students to run.

Ask about Sliding Scale Fees.

Pre-School Classes --

Pre-School Puppet and Story Time Magic: 2nd Fridays of the month, 9:30 – 10:30 am $1 donation requested

After-School Youth & Teen Classes --

Monday --

Teen Think Tank - Monday - Thursday, 3 to 5 pm,  ages 12 to 18 yrs, Starts January 9.
This includes: Snacks, socializing, homework time, help from mentor if needed, and games and other activities when homework is done.

Get your voice in shape and build up your singing skills.
Learn pitch, rhythm, poise, memorization skills, and stage presence, and different genres of fun music.

Teen Voice Lessons - Monday  5:30 - 7 pm 12 – 18 yrs - Starts January 9
Instructor: Jeni Brockbank

$24 a month* (4 lessons), plus the cost of music.

From 5:30- 6:30 on Mondays, Jeni will teach 20 minute voice lessons to youth aged 12-18 years, with the goal of helping students prepare their own songs and as desired perform a song for the youth choir’s Broadway Review Concert in May. The objective is to give youth the opportunity to have one-on-one vocal instructions where they learn skills, gain confidence and have the opportunity to perform. Younger students can also participate in vocal instructions but will need to pay Jeni directly. We will also offer the opportunity for all teen vocal students to sing or perform as a group song.
The cost will be $24 a month* (4 lessons), plus the cost of music. Discounts and scholarships are available for Think Tank Students and low income families.

Tuesday --


Puppet Making Class: Tuesday  4- 5:30 pm,  Grades 4-8,  January 24 - March 28
Instructors: Susan Neidert
$45 for 8 weeks
Design and make your own puppet, then learn puppet performance techniques.
 

Style for Girls:  (Girls, grades 6-9) Tuesday 4:00 – 5:30 pm - January 24 - March 14th
Instructor: Barbara Findlay
$30 - 8 weeks
Last class and the final fashion show will be on Tuesday, March 14th. Learn self-esteem, poise, manners, shopping on a budget, posture, and more.


Drawing for Teens: 12-18 yrs. old, Tuesday
: 3:30 - 5:00 pm, January 24 - March 14

Teen Art Space:  12-18 yrs - Tuesdays 5 - 6 pm - Starts January 24th.
Artist Mentor: Kelly Donovan
$5 registration fee for class*
Bring your own art project and supplies or start one here and receive help from Kelly as  needed. Some supplies available to students at no cost.

Wednesday --

Pay it Forward - Youth Volunteer service group for ages 12 – 16  Wednesday 3:45 - 5 pm
Get to know your community with group-volunteer service activities.
Learn when and how to be in charge and build up your resume’ while helping others in a fun, safe environment. 
Presidential awards included for service.

Learn stage presence, audition and acting skills, stage direction, and improv games, Ends with a formal performance on April 13.

Elementary Theater: Grades 1-5, Thursday, 5:00-6:00 pm, January 26 - March 30

Art Exploration, Grades K - 5, Thursday, 4:00 - 5:00 pm, January 26 - March 9

Different techniques and media will be explored with drawing, painting and sculpture.
