ART-TELL Call for Entries Guidelines

    Our Tenth Annual ART-TELL was April 17 - 22,  2017

Below is a copy of our annual "Call for Entries" information.  Watch for information in November 2017 about 2018 ART-TELL art show theme, contest dates and activities.  ART-TELL 2018 is tentatively scheduled for April 16 through 21. 

As part of ART-TELL, The Fine Arts Center of Brigham City is sponsoring an annual themed art show Thursday through Saturday, April 20, 21, & 22, 2017. We are inviting artists from Box Elder, Cache and Weber Counties to participate. This will be a juried show with cash merit awards given in both amateur and professional categories. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, fiber arts, quilting, and photos are all acceptable. The exhibit will be open 2:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. Activities will end Saturday evening, April 22nd at 7:30 pm with an awards program and reception where winners will be announced. We hope that you will want to participate and share your art. ELIGIBILITY: Original art work by persons 15 years (9th grade) or more and who reside or work in Box Elder, Cache, and Weber Counties. Up to five items may be submitted.  Art work previously winning prizes at the Brigham City Museum/Gallery or Box Elder County Fair will not be eligible for contest awards.

1. There is an entry fee of $5 per submission.
2. All art work must include a statement about the artwork in 25 words or less, and relate it to this year’s theme of “Our Legacy”, (open to your interpretation and due on submission.)
3. All art work must be ready to be hung or set out for exhibit. Photos, drawings, and paintings need to be framed and wired for hanging.
4. The recommended largest size is 4 feet in any direction.
5. Art work chosen for exhibit cannot be picked up early.

There will be a professional and an amateur category. Judging may further determine awards in any of the following categories: Most Representative of Theme, Best of Show, 1st and 2nd place for categories and Honorable Mentions. There will also be a People’s Choice Award.
Minimum prizes of $60 and $25.


April 17: (Monday) 3-5 pm, Call to arrange other artwork drop off time if Tues. or Wed. is difficult.
April 18 & 19: (Tues.-3-7 pm and Wed. 12:30 to 5:30 pm), entries received.
April 20: (Thursday) Entries judged in morning. Exhibit open 2 to 8 pm.
April 21: (Friday) Exhibit open 2 to 8 pm April 21: (Friday evening) upstairs: 7:30 pm, Music in the City Concert – “Ginger Bess” (Vintage Jazz) April 22: (Saturday) Exhibit open 2 to 8 pm, Awards Reception: 7:30 pm - Brief program,
awards announced and refreshments. (Art work may be picked up after 8:30 pm)
April 24: (Monday) 3 to 5:30 pm, Pick up art work if not able to collect on Saturday evening.

The Fine Arts Center staff will take every precaution to handle art work carefully and keep the building secure. However, since insurance value on original artwork is difficult to establish, the Center will not insure the artwork.
