2012 SUMMER  ACTIVITIES -

 

Summer Art Camps for 2012

     at the Fine Arts Center

We try to offer a wide range of activities, watch newspapers for a few additional  Friday and Saturday offerings still being arranged. We are also still lookinginto a  youth video class for 8th and 9th  graders.   Please call or email to pre-register at:

Nature Camp: Monday to  Friday June 11 thru June 15.  Held at the James V. Hansen  Wildlife Education Center just west of Brigham City.  Enjoy a week of  sketching, painting,  writing, sculpting, and exploring in this combined nature and art camp. Class is from 9 am to 1:30  pm  for ages 8 to 15.  Register in advance at the Fine Arts Center $50.

Summer Art Camps: ( 4 days in one week) Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. 9 am to 2 pm.   Art, Music, Theatre, puppetry and science  for ages 5 to 14 years.  Different themes are offered each month.  Cost is $55 per student per session , family discounts available.      
                                                Session  #1  June 18, 19, 21, 22. Wind water and solar energy
                                                Session #2  July 16,17, 19, & 20  Food, wonderful food
                                                Session #3  July 30, 31, August 2, & 3  ? theme ( Tentatively South American Wonders)

Story Hour: Wednesdays for 6 weeks, June 13 through August 1 (no class July  4 or 25) For ages  3 to 7 years 10 am to 11 am.   Includes  stories, songs, crafts,  and puppetry. Registration is  $15 per child or $25 per family. 

Theatre camps:  Monday thru Friday  June 25 -29 with a final show the afternoon of Friday June 29.  There are  two Camps , Elementary for  grade 1 -3 from 9 am to 10 am,   and    Intermediate for grades 4 through 9th 10 am-2 pm..   Cost is $25 for elementary and $45 for older students. Directed by Ann Bailey.

Make Your Own Picture Book:  Monday through Friday  June 25 through 29.  Meet 9 am to 11:30 am.  Learn how to write, organize,  and add artwork to a story.  Children will complete and bind a hard cover book.  For ages 9 to 15 years of age. Cost is  $40  and includes materials. Instructor is  Karen Nelson.

Puppets in the Park: July 9 thru 13  , culminating in a park invasion and fun show at 4 and 7 pm on Friday July 13. Class meets  9 to 2 pm  daily.   Musical theater and puppetry are combined for a week of fun  with puppetry, live acting, music, and some dance.    Limited enrollment for  4-12th grade. Cost is $45 for the week.  Directors Bonnie Richardson and Susan Neidert
